As the oldest city in South Carolina, Charleston has its share of hidden gems that most tourists don’t discover until after their trip is over. One of these gems is the Isle of Palms, located just to the south of Charleston along the shoreline. A great place to spend time if you are retired or just looking to relax and get away from it all, Isle of Palms SC has plenty to offer retirees who want to find their sunny spot in South Carolina!

 Is it Safe There?

One of my concerns as a retiree is a crime. Thankfully, Isle of Palms has an excellent rating for its low crime rate. In fact, it has one of the lowest murder rates in South Carolina – according to Neighborhood Scout’s assessment, there are only 2 murders per 100,000 people (compared to a national average of 5 per 100,000). And that’s just one reason why you’ll find your piece here on Isle of Palms SC!
